I get very excited about spending the night before a wedding in a room at the venue - makes me feel slightly Bond-like with batteries charging and laptop open; panic-searching for an iron for a creased shirt.
Hafod farm is a new comer to the wedding scene. The 16th century farm has been restored by its owners into a romantic and quirky venue, making use of its many beautiful listed buildings. Llinos and Euron were married in the rustic, 500 year old Tall Barn, amongst the resident swallows and vintage inspired decor. llinos was escorted down the aisle by her proud papa bear to the all time classic and greatest love song ever written - 'Suddenly' by Angry Anderson. (I could have sworn I saw Helen Daniels sobbing in the pews). During the ceremony Llinos and Euron's 7 year old boy, Rhys, stunned everyone with his ukulele skills, playing the Welsh hymn, Calon Lan, alongside his teacher.
After the ceremony it was bubbles all round; on-hire bubble-blowers for the smalls and proper booze-bubbles for the bigs, before heading over to the marquee for curry and cake! The marquee was decorated in a vintage style chic, long tables of guests, hessian swathes, wooden favours and pops of pink in the lanters and flowers. Llinos and her mom made the the wedding cake which, of course, I felt it was my duty to test. It was so good I tested quite a lot it! The repurposed 'Horse Box Bar' in the marquee was a stroke of genius and kept everyone away from sobriety!
The evening landed perfectly after a chilled afternoon in the sun, so we disappeared for a 'Mr+Mrs' shoot around the grounds of the farm, leaving the guests to chat and play games in the light of the setting sun....arhhhh.
